Fun with Fimo Gel

Filed under: polymer clay — tinat @ 2:25 am

with all the talk about liquid translucent clay, I thought that I would show off some old beads.  I’ve had the idea of dried flowers and clay floating around in my head for some time…  Last year I made a set of beads with dried grape leaves… I’ve missed placed the old pics, but this is one of a new set that I just sold not too long ago!

and for this year I made some with dried “clover” leaves for St. Patty’s Day.

See there is just no end to what you can do with it!!  It’s just so much fun!

Busy – Busy – Busy!!

Filed under: polymer clay — tinat @ 10:04 pm

I had a creative and productive week this week!! :0)  Yes, I actually got some things done! LOL!!

I guess I am just making up for lost time.   I still have a few sets that I need to get sealed, but here are a few of the ones that I did get done!!

bead sets

I have been playing around with colors…  What colors look best with other colors… . and will this color work with this other color…. LOL!!  I think that most bead artist struggle with this, and those who don’t…. well, I just envy them!

I think that even if there was a set way of deciding… well, I am not sure that I would follow it.  I just get a kick out of making my own colors.  I am always grabbing a little of this and some of that to see what ’new’ color that I can somehow create.  I do believe that is my most favorite part!  …….and trying to get a color to ‘look’ better with the color that I just created! LOL!!

Each set of beads that I create can honestly  be an OOAK. …(one of a kind)  I don’t ever use the clay right out of the package.  I am always adding a little of pearl, gold, silver, or translucent to it.  Makes it hard for my customers who want beads made just like a certain set, because I can not create it to be the same…… similar, but not the same.  But to me that is the joy of Art!  :0)  Hope you all have a productive weekend…. I am going to try to get the rest of those beads sealed!!  and hope to create some more fun colors!!

I have made another focal beads with liquid clay!  Oh, my gosh they are just so much fun to create!   This beads is a mermaid swimming in the ocean with a few fish, coral, and shells, and even a few star fish!

Making beads like this is a little time consuming, but it is TONS of fun.    Can’t wait to do it again!

Filed under: polymer clay — tinat @ 2:18 pm

I have to just say how much I just LOVE working with these colors! LOL!!

It really doens’t matter what shades of Gold, Red, Black, or Turquoise that you use, it just always seems to come out WONDERFUL! LOL!    I had a ton of fun mixing up the canes to see what kind of design I could create…. thankfully for the most part they worked well together.    I currently have this set up on eBay.    To have a quick peek at what I have on eBay here is the link:  http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZrobtina94QQhtZ-1
