Playing Around!

Filed under: polymer clay — tinat @ 1:43 pm

I have been so inspired by florals here lately!!  It all began with Chris and her lotus beads.   I just LOVED the way they looked!  So I went searching through the Internet and came across gobs of beautiful florals!!  Gobs! But the ones that really struck me were from Barb’s  (aka rubarb) Blog.    The process is just amazing!!  How can a person NOT be inspired by those beautiful florals?

So with that said I just had to give it a try!!  I HAD to!! I so wanted to try to make flowers, but not use paint on them, just try it with clay.  I did  use a gold and silver leafing pens on the edges of the flowers, but all the other colors are the clay.  I just made up canes and formed them into leaf shapes and then placed them on a base bead and ta-da!  A pretty flower! :D   LOL!!

Here are a few pics of the flowers I created…

I just love the green and purple together… what a fun color combo!

Here is another set of floral beads that I created.  This set is more for the  4th of July, or even Flag day coming up….

 red white blue flowers

as you can see, they are just a blast to make!!  LOVE them so much that I do plan on making a ton more!!  So thank you so much Chris for your inspiration!!  Just wait till you see the poppies I have started on!!  :)   You have created a monster! LOL!!

oh, and I did get a few more Mermaids completed!!  :D   I still just love the process of creating them!

This one is diving down for a pearl:

as you can see it is for the most part smooth on the top…  that is the tricky part!

and here is a pic of my 3rd mermaid!

I do just love making them….  I can’t wait till things settle down more so I can have the time to create more!  I have a few more ideas I want to try out!  I am very pleased with the “water” in these two beads…. Now if I can just remember how I did it! LOL!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Weekend!

I Jumped!! :0)

Filed under: me — tinat @ 6:05 pm

I finally let loose and jumped! LOL!!  :D

The flier has been mailed out and it’s in my hand…( Polymer Clay was spelt wrong, but it’s a start! LOL!! )  There is no turning back now.

I am teaching classes at the Art Association of Henry County, INC.

The class will be held July 21  From  2:00 – 5:00 p.m. and the cost will be $25.00!!  ($20.00 for those who are already members)

For now I am just doing one class to see what kind of turn out I have…. I hope to have a full class…. but if not, it will still be a ton of fun!!

I will teach a class on basic bead making!!  Yippee!!   I also have hopes to show how to make a few canes…  now just time to start up on the hand outs for class!    I am just thrilled with the opportunity to grow as an artist….  it’s just one step closer to where I want to be…. step by step I will get there.

Again, Thank you! There are so many of you that continue to support me again and again….. there are just no words to describe how thankful I truly am!!

LOL!!  I am One step closer!!  Today I need to call and talk to the director!  And I already have 2 people saying, “Yes, I’ll take the class!”   Today I am walking around with a big o’l Smile on my face!

I just can not tell you what a wonderful Blessing it is to have such wonderful friends and family who are all so willing to CHEER me on!  Thank you all for encouraging me!

Just jump already!

Filed under: me — tinat @ 9:43 pm

You know…  when you are basically a shy person and not overly confidant it is extremely hard to step up and over that side of the box you live in!!

This week I have stepped up on that side, but have yet to jump down.

Let me explain…..   I want to start a guild in my area!!  I think that it would be a ton of fun to get with people who have a passion for PC like I do!  So to get the ball rolling I decided to contact Cat and I asked her a TON of questions.  She was such a sweet heart and was so willing to answer each and everyone that I had!!  But here I sit… still on the top of that box waiting for the courage to jump off! LOL!!

Then, this past Friday, I attended the Art show at the kids school… and I ran into my high school art teacher and told him what I wanted to do…. So we chit chatted about Clay and then he asked me if I would be interested in TEACHING a class…..

Can you believe it!!  I would love to teach a class… I am so excited about it!  Well, guess what????   I have NO CLUE what to do!!  I am a follower by nature, not much of a leader, but I so want this!!!

So this week I contacted a few PC artist who do teach…..  I can not get over how willing they were to share with me…..  HOLLY COW!!  Polymer clay artist are all heart!  That is all I can say.

Jael Thorp took the time to answer each and every question that I wrote out for her…. I mean Every Single ONE!! LOL!!

and  Jeanne Rhea…. she gave me a ton of ideas and a whole lot to ponder!

(lets just say that I am still sitting on the edge of my box still not sure what to do!!  LOL!!  I guess it’s just fear of failing that keeps me here!)

So while I was sitting on that edge and thinking about jumping down, I took a break and gave Mr. Custer a call and said…. “HELP — I don’t have a clue what to do!”

You know, I can see where I am at, I know where I want to be, but I just don’t know how to get there!

I can not begin to thank all my online friends for their support and wonderful words of encouragement!  I can not even begin to thank my ’sisters’ !

(((sigh)))  I have to learn to breath, and know that this is going to be Okay.  I wish I had more confidence, I wish I was more bubbly, I wish I knew what the heck I was doing….. I want to be so prepared for it all…. I want to walk in there and know what I am doing and how I am going to do it and how I am going to achieve this goal…..  ((((sigh))))  I guess it’s just a leap of Faith!  You just have to jump out of that box and go with the flow…..

ok…. I am jumping… tomorrow!  LOL!!
