To run or walk?

Finally a little time to take a breather!  I don’t have any finished beads to show off today, but I do have a few that are in the works!!  I am liking the looks of them thus far.

to me there is just NOTHING like great color combinations…. and this one is just one of those “hits”!! 

I was surfing the net again this week and looking for fresh ideas on the what not’s of  the clay world, and found some sound advice and Wow moments. 

Cat is really coming into her own as a HUGE success as a “Business Woman”…. I just love reading her blog – some post you feel as if you are right there with her - right at her side, the excitement in her post just carries you on to the next adventure….  I personally have enjoyed the ride! LOL!!   Thank you, Cat, for raising the bar higher! — you are a wonderful teacher!!

and another blog that I just found,(sad to say), was Judy Dunn’s!!!   What a wonderful post she wrote!  Nothing like getting a little kick in the butt for those of us who like to sit back and just wait and see……  I know that personally getting out of my box was (is )the hardest thing for me to do… shoot, I still climb back in for the comforts of “home”! LOL!!  Being outside you feel so vulnerable and the unknown is so very scary! LOL!!  

 I know that my journey will be long and slow…  I personally am ready for a long and slow walk to get where I want to be.   I feel that with my “professional life”  I will have many chances.  I still have so much to learn…  I feel the need to take things slow, to know where I am at, not to feel stressed about where I am going.. just to enjoy the journey getting there. (I have a long road to travel, I am not sure where I am going, or where I want to be) 

 I think that a huge part of  the “unknown” for me  is having my children.  They just have to come first.  (you don’t get a change to have a “do over” – it’s a one time deal)  They have needs right now that I have to fill….  I think about how fast time flies and how life is sometimes a blurr…. man, where did the last 12 years go, can he really already be 12!  When did that happen?  In 10 more years they will already be gone!  So for now, I gladly choose them!  I will gladly chose to love them more then my PC…. (for now!)  LOL!!  But once they are gone… Watch out!  I will be running to get where I want to be!! LOL!! (maybe then I will know where I am going!!) – HA!!

Ok…. I made more flowers!  I just could not help but try this pretty cane into a flower or two.  I just love the final outcome.   

 

 

 

And this set… hard to photograph, but I LOVE them!!  The black seems to dominate the beads in the pics, but in when you are holding them in your hands, they seem more neutral…. hard to explain, but much prettier then the photograph….

 

I have so many ideals floating around in my head that I become overwhelmed when I do sit down at the clay table…..  I had a vision last week of creating a bead like my mermaid beads, but with a fairy inside…. still a work in process…. thus far, my vision is quite different then what I really am wanting, but I am not giving up yet!  

 

I also have some ideas for making Teddy Bears, gosh, it’s been so long since I have created a critter bead…. I kind of miss it….  Halloween and Christmas are right around the corner for beaders…. and Fall!!  I LOVE fall colors….  see…. tons of ideas… I just need to find the time!

 

My Class will be this Saturday!!   Wow!!  Time just flew by!  I got the supplies all ready – got the outline for the class ready – Now just have to get the nerves under control and then things will be just fine!  LOL!!   (wish me luck!! I be a wreck come Saturday!!)

More Flowers and Canes!

I will have a few more Cane Flowers up this week. (On Ebay!) I am still just amazed at how much I love making canes and transforming them into petals for flowers.   I find myself searching the net more and more for color combos and design ideas for canes.

One of my Favorite Cane designers  is Jana Roberts Benzon!  Man, the details she puts into her canes is just amazing…. for me Breathtaking! LOL!!   Check out her web sight: JRB ART & Design!!  Tons of cane ideas floating in there! AND the color Combos that she uses for her canes just blows me away!   

ok… yeah I know that she is Somebody that I should have already heard about…. should have seen her work…. and I have, but sometimes when you are in the mist of creating something, you just need to see more…  You pay more attention and appreciate it so much more.   I have glanced at her work, but never really studied it and once I took the time to do so…. WOW!   I am blown away by her work!!  

 So great Job Jana Roberts Benzon!!!  know that you have a new fan!  I can not wait to see more!

Oh, and I got a call this week from Kim, she is from the Art Association of Henry County, where I will be teaching my class.  She wanted to let me know that I already have 5 people signed up for my class!!  Woo HOO!!  LOL!!  For me that is wonderful!  I have to keep talking to myself and reminding myself that this is for real….  you are going to be teaching a class, Tina!! LOL!!   I have already started packaging clay samples for the class…..  I just hope that I am as ready as I think that I am!     NOT!!   LOL!!  (Lord, help me!!)
