I did finally get those beautiful Fall Inspired Beads finished.  The Mokume Gane technique has to be one of my favorite techniques to play around with… it just seems you can never have too many or too few of colors when you are working with it….. FUN!!

Here are the finished beads:

A wonderful and very talented jewelry artist purchased these, I just can NOT wait to see what magic she works and what the final piece will look like.  Maybe I can talk her into giving me a shout out when she is finished so we all can see what she has created….

I have also settled into the Christmas mode, even though I am still stuck in the summer mode and waiting for my brain to say it’s Fall already!

See, isn’t he cute!

with these I hope to send a whole new batch out for Beads Of Courage  if you have never donated beads to them before, I strongly suggest that you do….. what a wonderful way to brighten up a child’s day then with a little bead….  that sparks a smile, and that can lift a spirit and change the coarse of a day……   just something to think about….

I can not begin to tell you how excited I was to see Christi Friesen’s tutorial in the new PolymerCafe book!!  OH MY GOODNESS!!  I have been itching to do a set for the longest time… ever since Melanie West’s  work and the link that she had posted with the wonderful array of colors for sea slugs!!

I can not thank you both for the wonderful inspiration!!  (mine aren’t as cute or colorful, but they were a lot of fun and I am determined to make a few more!)

Here are my slugs/snails!

I love when a mistake goes Right!

Filed under: Beads, Kato Clear Medium, polymer clay — tinat @ 11:22 pm

I was working on some pendants the other day and everything went wrong!!  So I decided to peel off the top layer and start all over again… Good idea, right, NO  – WRONG!  It ruined all three pendants I was working on…. so sitting there wallowing in my despair, I decided that I just needed to put a new spin on it, and instead of crying over spilled milk, I was going to make these three wounded pendants work for me – NO MATTER WHAT!!

And by gosh, I did!!  I got out my embossing powders, Paint, and of course Kato Clear Medium, and off ot work I went!  (now, I wish I had a before Picture to show what a horrible mess they were, but I do have the finished pieces!!)
